When a hurricane or tropical storm watch or warning is published for our area, please make your home storm ready.  Please check the following items around your house:

• Remove any loose items from your front entryway.  This includes, bicycles, strollers, flags, ornamental lawn lights and plants.  Anything that is not tied down can be picked up by high winds and then become a dangerous flying object.
• In your back area, move any furniture, grills, plants and other loose objects to your garage area. Any umbrellas should be folded and stored in the garage also.
• Park you cars in the garage if possible to possibly avoid them from being hit by flying debris.  If you need to park your car outside, try to keep it away from large trees or large overhanging tree limbs.

These are some of the specific items you should take care of around your home to keep it safe.
